The Perception & Usability of Agility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Industry, Pakistan
Abstract
The emergence of Agile approach in software industry is gaining popularity due to its
optimized processes, accepting changes, quick deliveries, time efficiency, reduced cost and
improved quality. Although most of the software development firms are using traditional
approach but late delivery of projects, over-budgeted software and reluctance to change are
certain issues due to which customers are not satisfied. This paper focuses on the adoption of
agility, the reduction in cost, quick delivery and customer satisfaction using XP and SCRUM in
KP Pakistan. This research is carried out among 30 registered software houses of KP.
Researcher used descriptive study to cover the facts about development methodologies.
According to the underlying research, 33% of the software development organizations in KP
are practicing Agile. 77% of Agile projects were delivered on-time and the cost of 65% Agile
projects was reduced as Agile eradicated unwanted tasks during development. The results of
using Agile methodology as compared to Traditional methodology are more appealing to
customers because they fulfill customer requirements, reduce cost and deliver projects in-time
which are critical points towards customer satisfaction.
